Day 18-Going a little crazy

Well, let's see....today was a good day.  I am starting to really miss my students.  I had zoom meetings with my students in three different classes.  That was nice to be able to see all of them.  My computer science kids all had their dogs with them in the meeting.  Bring your pet to class in computer science.  My 8th period web tech kids were excited to see me as well.

I didn't really watch much tv today.  Mostly worked on my computer and graded assignments.  I did get on social media.  I guess, I am going a little crazy and missing personal interaction with others!!!  You don't realize how much you need to just talk to someone.

My mother has made 2 or 3 videos of her playing the piano for Facebook.  She now takes request and I wouldn't be surprised if she is getting tips in her Facebook messages.

Mom and I did go to the post office in Bauxite.  We drove over 30 minutes for a flyer from Harbor Freight.  She then needed to go to Walmart which leads to my story of the day.

So, we are in Quarantine. Definition of Quarantine:  a state, period, or place of isolation in which people or animals that have arrived from elsewhere or been exposed to infectious or contagious disease are placed.    EVIDENTLY,  Walmart is where half the city has decided to be in quarantine TOGETHER.

My mother put her latex gloves on.  She didn't have a mask, but she was going to stay away from people.  She had her list, and knew exactly what she needed to get.  My plan was to stay in the car and when she came out, I would drive up and pick her up.  While waiting on her,  I saw people with mask and gloves.  I saw one lady with a hat that she had obviously created with a  plastic shield and grey tape.  What I didn't understand,  if you are so scared that you are going to get this virus, then WHY ARE YOU OUT AT WALMART?  I have seen pictures on the internet where people have made entire outfits from garbage bags!  JUST STAY HOME!

Mom reported that people were staying away from each other.  She used her credit card to avoid touching cash.  I am sure she made a mad dash to everything she wanted.  She is just a little taller than the grocery cart.  So, imagine this little lady zooming to her spots and grabbing stuff like she robbed the place.

People need to use common sense.  Yes, this is a serious situation and time we are living, but if we use the sense God blessed us with, then maybe we can make good decisions and live to see tomorrow.
